Method & coverage

Trust the record, not the banner.

Wasitever measures exact retailer offers over time. Every verdict is bounded by what we actually witnessed, and every important limit stays visible beside the result.

The pipeline

From listing to verdict

A tool page is the end of a traceable measurement process, not a rewritten retailer card.

  1. 01

    Identify the exact offer

Product, configuration, retailer listing, retailer, and channel form one identity. A bare tool, kit, and bundle never share a price record.

  2. 02

    Witness the offer

Price and availability observations are stored with their source batch and exact time. Failed or incomplete coverage cannot prove absence.

  3. 03

    Build the record

Price-days accumulate. Gaps remain gaps. Retailer reference-price claims stay separate from prices Wasitever actually witnessed.

  4. 04

    Publish only what it earns

The canonical algorithm applies one maturity and verdict policy. Qualifying events enter an append-only journal before any publication surface can use them.

Evidence model

Three classes. Different jobs.

All three can be real evidence; they do not carry the same analytical weight.

Class A

Retained observations

Complete point observations retained from the archive. They count as witnessed price-days and participate in the longitudinal record.

Class C

Current longitudinal observations

New point observations accruing through the active collection pipeline. They carry source-batch and coverage receipts.

Class B

Dated summary facts

A durable witnessed high or low with a date. It appears as a detached mark, never a continuous curve, and never counts as a price-day.

Claim permissions

The maturity ladder

More ambitious language requires more evidence. Pages cannot promote themselves into a stronger claim.

  1. M0

    Building

Fewer than 7 price-days or less than a 14-day span

Shows observations and coverage. Publishes no price verdict.
  2. M1

    Measured

    7–29 price-days spanning at least 14 days

May compare today’s exact offer with its witnessed 90-day reference.
  3. M2

    Deep record

    At least 30 price-days

May describe empirical position, including lowest-decile claims.
  4. M3

    Long horizon

    A continuous 12-month record

May support claims that explicitly require year-scale evidence.

Live scope

Coverage is part of the answer

Today’s limits are stated directly. New retailers and brands will enter as parallel scopes under the same evidence contract.

A verdict is valid only inside its stated exact-offer, retailer, channel, and observed-time scope. One retailer’s record does not establish another retailer’s history.

Corrections

Errors stay visible.

When a published fact is wrong, its page states the old value, corrected value, date, and cause. Evidence and canonical deal events are append-only; a correction supersedes a bad publication instead of silently rewriting history.

Reproducibility

Every build carries receipts.

Pages identify the evidence timestamp, export manifest, algorithm version, and build. Two builds from the same accepted snapshot must produce byte-identical output.

Placement policy

Evidence determines placement.

No one can pay for a verdict or position. Qualifying offers are ordered by the canonical evidence ranking. Retailers are compared by witnessed offer facts, never commercial preference. Some outbound links may earn a commission; the ranking and verdict systems receive no affiliate input.

Site measurement

Aggregate, not behavioral.

Cloudflare Web Analytics supplies aggregate page views, paths, and referrers without cookies or personal identifiers. Wasitever uses no advertising pixels, session recording, or cross-site behavioral tracking.
